I created this blog as a home to feature all of my Internet Marketing businesses in one main location.. a showcase of sorts if you will.
Having been an online marketer for several years now, I have seen pretty much all the techniques used to market online and will do my best to help others in their journey to reach online success.

Recently while moderating a friend’s blog I realized that he had been receiving tons of comments unrelated to his blog topic. Although I am the moderator of his blog and am in the Internet Marketing niche, his blog is for his restaurant and was built for him to get reviews for his establishment.
Since I designed his blog over a year ago now, he has been getting all kinds of comments posted there about internet marketing which is not what it was designed for. Just the other day I had to go through and delete 167 comments involving the internet marketing niche.
I must admit it is partially my own fault because I made the mistake of answering a few marketing related comments there, and these type of comments have been coming in ever since.
As a result of this I decided I would place links on his blog and direct those users here to answer their internet marketing questions, and hopefully they will stop posting their comments on his blog and follow my links here.

Question: How hard is it to build a successful Blog?
I was recently asked this question in a comment posted on a friend’s blog but didn’t feel that it was appropriate to answer it there because it was way off topic for that forum considering it’s a restaurant review blog.
Therefore, I will attempt to explain some of the details here of how to build a successful blog depending on some factors related to the process and a few of the different platforms available.
Having been involved in Internet Marketing for several years now I have had the opportunity of learning quite a bit about the process involved in building a successful blog, not just from other marketers, but from trial and error while building my own blogs.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term “easier said than done”… Well actually, it all depends on what platform you are building your blog on to begin with.
WordPress has pretty much become the defacto standard for building a blog for most marketers today, especially if you want a platform that is relatively easy to install and equally as easy to maintain once you have it completely set up.
With WordPress you have many choices to make of what you want the design and feel, so to speak, of your blog to be. But first you must make the important decision of how and where you are going to position your blog on the web.
Anyone can get a free blog online at:wordpress.com or wordpress.org, but if you want to have more control and options available in the design of your blog, I would suggest you install a wordpress blog in your own hosting account on your own domain. Those with limited funds usually go for the free option to start out.
With a WordPress Blog hosted on your own domain you will have much more control over the look and feel of your blog and also there are many more so called Plugins available for your wordpress blog hosted on your own account, although that has been changing more and more in recent times, due to the vast amount of users of the wordpress platform and the support available.
The main point is, if you are planning on building a blog then you really should have your own space to operate it from and if you are planning on entering into the Internet Marketing arena then you should get your own hosting right away.
A wordpress blog is something that once you build it, you don’t want to have to move it later, when you have it all set-up and running the way you want.
Bottom line is, if you are planning on building a successful online presence using a wordpress blog then you should build it properly right from the start.
I hope this post has helped to clarify some of the main factors invloved in building a successful blog online and I will continue to post what I feel is relevant information in an effort to help you succeed.

Once you have your blog installed in your hosting account like I mentioned last post, you are ready to begin building your blog.
The first thing you need to do is find yourself a Theme to use for your blog. You do this by logging in to what is called your wordpress dashboard.
Find the Appearance Tab in the left column dialog boxes of your dashboard and click Themes, you will see the current Theme and you can also search for available WordPress Themes by type, keyword, or number of columns.
My favorite theme is the one I use for this blog, but there many themes available for WordPress due to it’s wide usage among all kinds of people for many topics.
Once you pick your theme and install it your next project should be to install WordPress Plugins via the plugins dialog box located on the left.
There are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of plugins available for WordPress… just click on Add New on the plugins menu and you can search for them with the click of your mouse and install the ones you want.
Of course I have certain ones I use for SEO and things like that to help improve page rank, but there are plugins designed for literally any process you want to activate on your blog. Look through them and make sure you get the plugins with the features you want.
I will discuss plugins more on the next post and list some of the best plugins to use if you want to improve your page rank, they are pretty simple to install once you do a few and I’m sure you will get the hang of it rather quickly.

In my last post I was discussing the WordPress plugins I use on my blogs to improve SEO and overall page rank for the purpose of getting higher search engine placement for your websites and blogs.
I recently installed the plugin called WP Directory List which allows other website owners to post their marketing related links on my Add Your Links page to help them get some more online exposure for their marketing websites and blogs.
I hope everyone who has their own site will take advantage of this and post their links as often as they like. This works in more ways than one to help increase exposure of your sites and mine at the same time. How this works you ask.
Well, it’s really quite simple, when I post a comment, say for instance on Twitter with a link to my Add Your Links page and someone clicks on it they are taken to my page where they can add their own link to any of their websites or blogs.
Then, when I post a comment with a link to my Marketing Resources page where all of the links are displayed and someone clicks on it they are taken to the page where they see all of the relevant Marketing links website owners have posted.
Hence, everyone who posts their links gets more exposure for their sites on a different site other than their own, which helps to increase exposure and the number of places that people can visit their sites from on the World Wide Web.
Anyone posting their link(s) also has the option to select the category they want their link posted under at the time that they add their link. This makes the links more targeted to whatever business or niche they are involved in marketing for.
I see this post has become much longer than I had planned on writing today, so I will continue to cover some of the other plugins I use to optimize my blogs in my next post. Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard since the internet came into existence. It is much easier now compared to the days when people had to make use of telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the progress of their program.
So with this new technology in hand, and presuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in the affiliate’s life would go something like this…
Upon waking up, the computer is turned on to check out new progress in their chosen marketing network. As far as the marketer is concerned there is usually new updates and statistics to keep track of and general daily maintenance to be performed.
The site design also has to be revised quite often to help keep visitors and users coming back to the site. Marketers know that a well designed site can increase sign-ups from visitors and also increase the number of repeat visits. It will also help to increase the affiliate’s conversion rates which is of great importance.
Once that is done, it is time to submit the site to directories that list affiliate programs. These directories are an avenue to attract people to join your affiliate program and a surefire way of promoting it.
Now it is time to track the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are also phone orders and emails to track down during this process. You must check to see if they are new or existing clients checking the products out, noting the contact information that might be a viable marketing source in the future.
There are lots of marketing resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to hand out as the marketer knows this is one way of increasing sales. This is also the best way to stay visible and accessible too.
The affiliate marketer has to remember there are questions to answer from the visitors and prospects of their product. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a current or potential customer more than unanswered emails.
To insure that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries have to be paid great attention to. Nobody wants to be ignored and clients are not always the most patient of people. Write a quick answer that appears professional yet friendly.
In the process of doing all of the necessary chores, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates in the same program. This is where they discuss things like how to promote their products in the best way possible.
There are many things to be learned and it is an ongoing process that keeps the affiliate marketer busy for a large part of the day. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing support to other affiliate marketers. There may be other people out there wanting to join the program and they may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities may lie ahead of you each and every day.
There are newsletters and ezines to be updated regularly, so the affiliate marketer needs to see if there are any new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s newsletter to be distributed to current customers and new prospects alike.
These same publications are just one of the important tools in keeping up to date with newly introduced products. The marketer may have put up a sale or promotion that customers probably want to know about. Not to mention, that they have to keep up with the deadline of sales they promote in their publications.
Then there comes a time to show some appreciation to others who have helped the marketer with their promotions to help increase their sales. Usually this is best achieved by promoting the persons, their sites and the procedures they performed that helped make everything work.
Of course, these notes of praise will be published in the marketer’s newsletter too, along with the more important information that has already been written about your promotions.
Usually, but not always the marketer still has time to write recommendations to those who want reliable sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of marketing newbies.
This achieves two objectives at the same time. The marketer gets to promote their product as well as the program they are involved in. And who knows, someone new may decide to join their marketing opportunity or actually buy the product being promoted.
Time flies and the marketer has usually missed lunch, but is quite satisfied with the tasks they have completed for that day. And now it is probably close to bed time.
Just to be clear, this may not all be done in one day. But it does give you an idea of how someone spends a day in the life of a dedicated affiliate marketer.
I hope this will help to explain what is involved in becoming an affiliate marketer to anyone who is planning on breaking into the arena of the World Wide Web.
And hopefully their success as an affiliate marketer is not too far down the road.
Having been involved in Internet Marketing for quite a while I sometimes get very frustrated when I receive a promotional email from a fellow marketer that is filled with hype or a link to an extremely long video.
What’s even more frustrating is when they refer me to a so called great marketing video, and when I get to the site, the video goes on and on about all kinds of things unrelated to the actual marketing strategy they are supposed to be explaining.
I’m sure most of you know exactly what I’m talking about and probably have been in the same situation many times. Myself, I prefer to just get to the meat of the content, instead of sitting and listening to all the unrelated details.
But I guess being in this niche you sometimes have to put up with things that you don’t really care to hear before you can actually get to the things that are really important to you.
Don’t get me wrong here, as I’m not trying to complain, but just making an observation about something that I’m sure all of us internet marketers have dealt with at one time or another.
Well, this very thing happened to me earlier today and when I arrived at the site to watch the video, it just seemed to drag on and on so I ended up leaving the site after watching it for about ten minutes and listening to the guy’s life story.
Like I said, I’m not trying to complain and I’m sure I have sent people the same kind of videos and they have had the same reaction, and ended up leaving my site too.
So what’s my point you ask, well it’s like the old Rolling Stones song lyrics, “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you get what you need.” And that is just the way it is with internet marketing now and then.
So don’t get discouraged and give up if you are trying to break into the internet marketing arena, especially if you are new to the scene, because eventually it will work for you if you keep plugging away at it.
If you are interested in being able to set your own hours and working from the comfort of your own home then it may take a little while, even a long while sometimes, but eventually you will make it if you keep a positive attitude.
I know there were many times in the very beginning that I got awful frustrated because everything didn’t go exactly the way I thought it would, but I just kept telling myself that I will succeed and you can do the same thing.
Not every strategy works for anyone who tries it and usually it never works the first time. Also, sometimes it doesn’t work out the way you planned it but that is not a reason to give up, or you will never succeed.
Some of what I am saying here may sound cold or unfeeling to you but that is not my intention. I am just trying to relate to you some of my own experiences with the hope of helping you get through these hurdles.

First of all, let me say that I may be getting some flak about this post from some of my fellow marketers, but I am a firm believer in the old saying: “Honesty is the best policy” and I try to convey my thoughts in an honest manner in all aspects of my life. In my opinion, if all internet marketers did this, the world would be a much better place for all of us to live in together.
That said, let me try to explain the difference between offers that are totally free and those received with an optin form that you must fill out to receive the item being offered.
As we all know and have probably heard at least a thousand times or more at this point, the money is in the list. What this means is that if you have a mailing list of subscribers to send your offers to, then your chances of succeeding in the world of Internet Marketing are much greater, and the bigger the list the better.
Statistics have shown that any prospect needs to be shown any one of your offers at least seven times before they will even consider making an investment in your opportunity and probably more times than that considering my own research that I have conducted with regards to conversions and sales.
It is not as easy as it once was to make money online and not only must you be able to put your offers in front of your prospects numerous times, but you must also build a trustworthy relationship with all of you potential customers before you can expect them to invest any of their hard earned money in your opportunity.
Also, in this day and age which we live in, you must give your potential clients many free bonuses throughout this process just so they will continued to accept your emails and check out your offers.
This brings me to the main topic of this post: “Free vs. Optin”
In my personal opinion, a Free offer should mean just that, FREE, not something that you should have to enter your name and/or email address in a form to get. However, this is generally not the case in the Internet Marketing arena as I’m sure most of you have realized by now if you have been involved in any sort of online sales promotions.
Optin is pretty much self explanatory in that it means what it says ie: opting in to receive something, just as opting out means you no longer wish to receive said items, emails, newsletters, etc., or whatever the case may be. And in my opinion this is not what I consider a totally free item because you are giving up personal information which in turn allows the internet marketer(s) to send you their promotions and product offers.
At the same time you are giving up more of your time which is needed to read emails and review the offers being pitched in these emails, so as you can see this should not be considered free, especially if you feel that your time is valuable and pretty much every internet marketer I know feels that their time is very valuable.
Although my personal opinion is that a free item should be just that, something that is totally free, I too have used the optin form when giving away free offers, just as many internet marketers have and continue to do so. I’m sure you have realized this by now and you have seen it many times on my different sites.
And just because I too use this technique doesn’t make it right to do so, any more than it makes it right for someone else. However, as you will soon learn if you haven’t already, this is a tactic used by most internet marketers to get people to subscribe to their mailing lists.
Then they usually send daily emails to their potential clients and try to get them to invest in their products and opportunities. I know exactly how this works because believe me when I say that I receive an average of 50 to 100 email offers every day of every week.
This can become rather time consuming for the average individual depending on how many of the emails you actually read and how many offers you honestly review. And one can suffer from what I call information overload in a relatively short period of time.
Lately, I have tried to refrain from using these optin tactics because I strongly believe in using the honest approach to marketing. However, I still realize the importance of maintaining a subscriber list, so I cannot completely abandon these techniques if I want to continue to build and maintain my list of potential clients, but I honestly have tried to curb it’s use.
In conclusion, I hope I have helped to explain the difference between the two terms and I encourage you to leave your comments regarding this topic, whether good or bad, as I would like to know how my own subscribers feel about it. And it will also help me to make the decision of how often I should use the optin form on my sites.

Note: A little disclaimer though, not all companies that ask for start up and sign up fees are mere bogus entities that won’t really help you make money online. Something that may not be an obvious thing to ask about when you are hiring a business consultant but should be taken into consideration is what type of documentation you will have once the consultation is

It’s always good to have evidence of what was done by a consultant, both for the present and the future. It is a good way to know what changes have been made by a consultant and it is a good reference tool. The documentation is a part of the road map to success that you are on with regards to your business.
When you are thinking about hiring a business consultant, one of the things that you should remember is that you shouldn’t go with the first consultant that you interview.
The person is going to be an employee of yours, and you conduct several interviews when you are looking to fill a position.
Hiring a business consultant is no different.
When you are looking for a business consultant, instead of just going to the phone book, the first thing that you should do is to talk to others that you have known that have used business consultants.
Find out what their experiences were with their consultants and if they were satisfied with what they did for them.
Before you conduct your interview with your business consultant, figure out what it is that you are looking for.

Just in the last few days I have received a bunch of emails referring me to sites with sales videos and wanted to get the opinions of other users of the blog as to which they prefer… Video vs. Traditional Ad Copy.
I don’t mind watching a marketing video or two now and then, but when I go to video after video and they are long drawn out sales pitches with tons of information unrelated to what I went there to get, I often get quite frustrated.
So, I decided I would write a post here and see how everyone feels about it themselves. Don’t get me wrong as I realize that video is quickly becoming the most popular way that marketers advertise their new products and I can relate to that. However, if I am looking for certain information to help with my marketing efforts I prefer to just get the information and go about my business rather than watch some long – drawn out video regarding the owner’s life and how they got to where they are.
Maybe it’s just me or perhaps there are others that feel the same way about these type of videos. I guess it’s like anything when it comes to marketing online… the video owner is just trying to connect, so to speak, with their viewers but sometimes I just want the information so I can move on to my next project.
Another reason I prefer the traditional ad copy is because I can copy and paste it into a text file and re-read it later at my own convenience and with a video I usually have to go back to the site and watch the whole thing over again from start to finish. Then if I miss some part of it I have to do it again. With traditional ad copy I can save it to my computer and refer to it whenever I want.
And we all know that as fast paced as the Internet Marketing World is these days, you need to move quickly if you want to succeed in the never ending arena of the sometimes tangled World Wide Web.

Search engines are the gateway to the Internet; they are the first tool that potential customers use to find the products and services they need. This is why link popularity is so imperative. If the customers do not find your website, you have no possibilities of making any sales.
You’re probably wondering what the blazes is popular about a link! Well, in a word – plenty! Link popularity refers to the ranking assigned to your website by the search engines, and it determines the ranking your page gets when keywords are entered into a search engine. So, you’re probably wondering, how do I make my link popular?
Search engines are discretionary, giving status and ranking to sites that have links to their pages from related, quality sites. It’s a simple formula, but a very important one. Google created the system, and now virtually all the most popular search engines employ it to rank your web pages in their indexes.
The more commonly used your keyword is, the harder it will be to achieve link popularity, but without achieving this step, it is almost certain your site will never rank highly on any search engine. But don’t be discouraged; there are tried and true ways of achieving link popularity using the most competitive keywords.
There are a few things you should be aware of. The first is that just linking up with a large number of other websites will not achieve link popularity. In fact, it may have quite the opposite effect. This is particularly true when pertaining to websites that are nothing more than “link farms” – pages containing line after line of indiscriminate links. Search engines may aggressively discriminate against your website if you are associated with a link farm, so steer clear of them!
The next thing to bear in mind is the quality of the site you are linking to. Never link to a page you have reservations about your visitors seeing. The last thing you want your website to appear as is indiscriminate and cheap. Linking to sites of poor quality will only lessen your link popularity, if not completely destroy it.
So let’s get to what you need to do to achieve supreme link popularity and improve your rankings to stellar status on all the popular search engines.
The first step, and the fastest way to get your foot in the door, is to get a listing in a popular directory, such as Open Directory Project and Yahoo. If your site is business-related, you will want to be listed on Yahoo, and despite the fact that it will cost you around $300 a year, it will be money well spent. If your site is non-commercial, the listing will be free, but it will take time and follow-up to actually get it listed. Open Directory gives you a free listing whether you are business-related or non-commercial, but be prepared to make a lot of follow-up inquiries before you see your site listed.
You are aiming to get listed in the highest level of the appropriate category, and this just takes some common sense. For example, if your company ships Alpaca wool from an Alpaca farm located in the middle of Nowhere, Tiny State, do NOT submit your listing to “Retailers from Nowhere, Tiny State.” BIG MISTAKE! All you have to do is look a little deeper – and submit your listing to the “Fine Alpaca Wool” category. You will not only associate yourself with culture and quality, but you will be listed in a national category.
The next step after you have attained directory listings is to locate other quality sites that will increase your link popularity. Try to find sites that are in some way related to yours, so not only will your link popularity increase, but your customer base may also be expanded. You want to avoid your competitors and look for sites that are useful to your site’s visitors. Let’s look at the Alpaca Wool site example. Linking up to a site that sells knitting supplies would be helpful to your visitors, and the chances of the knitting supply site wanting to link up to your site are also greater. By linking to a related site that will be relevant to your website’s traffic, you are increasing both of your site’s business prospects – and both of your sites’ link popularity.
Not all sites want to link to other sites, so you will have to do some research when you are looking for possible linking partners. Google is an excellent starting place for your search. Make sure you enter keywords that you think quality customers will also enter to find your own site. Remember, your criteria are quality, highly ranked, non-competing websites that have a links or resources page. Go to these sites and objectively assess them. Look at the quality of the product, the graphics, and the ease of use. Then check out the other sites they are linked to, and determine if your own site would fit in with the crowd.
When you decide you have found a good prospect, you must set out to woo them. The first thing to do is to add a link on your own links page to their site. This is an essential first step; it shows good faith, and ups your chances significantly of their reciprocity. After you have added their link, you must contact the webmaster of their site. Since this is almost always done by email, you want to make sure it is immediately clear that your message is not junk mail. This requires that you tell them right off the bat that you have added a link to their page on your site. A hook like this almost always insures the reader will read on.
Next, be sure to be flattering and let them know how much you appreciate their website. Make sure you emphasize that you have actually visited their site, and that their site is not just a random pick. Give them the address of your links page, and ask them to check out the link for themselves. It’s a good idea to mention that they will not only benefit from the increased traffic your website will direct their way, but you will also increase their link popularity. Briefly, explain why link popularity is so essential, but do this in a sentence or two so you don’t sound like a professor! Finally, tell them you would greatly appreciate if they would reciprocally add a link on their own links page to your website.
Go through this process with as many appropriate sites as you can find, bearing in mind the criteria of quality and non-competitiveness. After you have emailed all relevant sites, be sure to check these websites frequently to see if they have added a link to your page. Give it about a month, and if no link appears, try another charming email. Then give it another month, and if your site is still absent from their links page, it’s time to remove their link from your own links page. The only time you want to pursue a link further than this is if you believe a site is crucial to your link popularity and your business needs. Just remember to keep all your communications complimentary and cordial.
Then set up a schedule to check your ranking in search engines frequently to see if your link popularity has improved. This is not achievable in the blink of an eye. It will take some time and a good deal of work. There is no way around the labor-intensive quality of improving your link popularity, which is why search engines regard it with such importance.
By the way – make sure you have a beautiful, streamlined site or you will never persuade anyone to link up to you. Be prepared to keep plugging away at this process, as long as it takes, until you achieve link popularity stardom!

Just wanted to take a few minutes and discuss my reasons for creating this blog for those who never took the time to read my About page.
It all started about twenty years ago or so when I first became interested in computers and was attending College for Computer Technology. It was tough in the beginning because like with any new endeavor you have to learn the basics before you can understand the rest.
I started out by signing out stacks of computer books at the library just so I could learn all of the computer lingo and definitions. At the same time I was attending classes and helping my wife raise her two children and one we had together. Talk about a lot on your plate.
Then, my wife became very ill and I ended up having to withdraw from school to take care of her and the children. I’ve always felt family is the most important thing in life so I put everything else on hold and took care of my family.
I guess I should say here that this was in the mid to late 80′s when computers were first beginning to become available to the average household, not like today when virtually everyone has access to one. And the first real one we owned was a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4P that we bought from my wife’s brother.
Talk about a dinosaur, it had two 180k floppy drives and 64k of memory but it got the job done at the time. Since it was hard to find programs for TRS-80′s I started signing up at computer bulletin boards and downloading all the programs I could find to run on it. As a result of this the phone bill went through the roof.
Having spent so much money to download the programs I decided I would set up my own computer bulletin board to make these programs available for other TRS-80 users which I called Kandy Corner. And eventually we got another Model 4 desktop computer and I installed a 5 Meg Hard Drive which was alot back then.
About ten years later my wife and I split up and she kept the computers so a friend bought some used IBM PCs at an auction and gave me one in return for all of the help I had given him with his own computers. From then on I basically taught myself everything I could about computers. I took them apart, fixed them and put them back together.
Fast forward to present day, boy does time fly, and I now have more computers than I really need most of which are pretty outdated but they still work and get the job done. I even donated several to diferent organizations like a Church and a Senior citizens center and even donated one to a raffle to help a friend who was in an explosion of a air compressor and injured badly.
The point I am trying to make in telling you all this is that it isn’t easy for anyone to become successful with computers and it doesn’t happen overnight. It took me twenty years or more to learn everything I know about computers and the Internet and I still learn something new every day.
So, if you feel you that you will never succeed online then you need to take a step back and tell yourself that you can do it and keep a positive attitude. If you do this, it may take some time but eventually you will succeed if you have a plan and keep focused on it. And if you don’t have a plan there are plenty of successful Internet Marketers who will show how to succeed and even let you copy their successful plan.
I hope this post will help some of you to realize that it does take time to succeed but the ending result is well worth the effort. Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.
Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don’t understand how to apply it to your particular business and website. Let’s start by examining the most basic data – the average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
These figures are the most accurate measure of your website’s activity. It would appear on the surface that the more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge the effectiveness of your site.
There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as “hits” and what is really effective, quality traffic to your site. Hits simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits, when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see, hits are not useful in analyzing your website traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website, the more accurate your interpretation will become. The greater the traffic is to your website, the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors can distort the analysis.
The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out what that problem is.
It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website, or that your graphics are confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as a gauge of how effective your fix has been.
Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website. If you have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention. You could, for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page.
If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page.
As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages. This is normal unless you notice an exit trend on a particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are exiting your website on a page not designed for that purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to discern what the problem is. Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphics may have a significant impact on keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the wrong page.
After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it’s time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor – meaning that they find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase – the more valuable that keyword is.
However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed – or should I say misdirected – to your site by a particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment. Keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor’s needs and motivations.
Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.
This concludes my series regarding Analyzing your Website Traffic. As usual I hope this has helped you to get a better understanding of how to interpret the website statistics provided by your hosting service.
Many people think that just because someone has money they are happy with the way their life is, which couldn’t be further from the truth!
Money does not in itself make you happy. Yes it can help you to pay your bills and buy nice things for you and your family, but does that mean you are happy?
Here is are two Twitter posts I read this morning from Tony Robbins which really got me thinking about some of the major misconceptions people have about life:

@tonyrobbins Most people aren’t really happy, but they aren’t unhappy enough to do any thing about it. That’s a dangerous place to be.
I agree one hundred percent with Tony regarding happiness and what it takes to achieve the level of happiness you desire in life. Life is what you make it, not what you perceive it to be.
If you make a happy comfortable life for you and your family then that is what it will be. On the other hand, if you go through life doing just what you feel will make you happy, will you really end up with true happiness?
Bottom line is, money in itself will not make you happy, any more than going to school will make you smart, it all depends on how you apply it in your everyday life which will ultimately define your real happiness.
I know this is a very tough subject to deal with and understand, but after reading Tony’s posts earlier I decided that it was something I wanted to write a little post about and hopefully clarify the difference between perceived happiness, and truly being happy.
I’ve read a great deal on the topic written by many Professionals in different fields and the common belief among them appears to be that life is what you make it, not simply what you want it to be just because that is what you want.
Like Tony says, ( get a vision! 4 what U want!) then make it the way you see it! I don’t think you could explain it any simpler than that.

Every now and then I receive an email with an annoying or misleading subject that I just have to laugh about… like these internet marketers think I am actually going to open an email with a subject like “CLOSED (you are too late??)”
When I get an email like that or one that says something like “Don’t open this email” I delete them immediately no matter what it may be or who it’s from.
First off, I know you don’t mean don’t open it, in fact you are probably just trying to use some reverse psychology to get the receivers to actually open it. And secondly, if it was closed or too late, you would have no reason to send it to begin with, unless you enjoy wasting other people’s time. So just be honest and you may find that more people will start opening your emails.
I don’t know about you, but I just can’t stand misleading emails, if you want me to open something then just be honest and straight forward with the subject. Don’t try and trick me into opening your emails because it just won’t happen.
If you have received any of these kind of emails then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Also, if you have I would really like to hear about it in a comment with your opinion on the subject. I know I can’t be the only one that gets these and it would be interesting to see some of the misleading email subjects some of my users receive.
If I receive a bunch of comments regarding this I will even write a post about them so everyone can see some of the lame email subjects some internet marketers use to try and get you to open their emails. Also, if you do leave a comment, I will even give you credit in the post and add a link to whatever page you want if you include one.
Hope to hear from a bunch of you regarding this. I think it would be an interesting change of pace to help get rid of some of the everyday boredom that sometimes comes with being an Internet Marketer.

If you have a website or blog then you have probably been the target of spammers at one time or another. This seems to have become a more widespread problem in recent times which has brought about the need for protecting your site from automated spammers or bots.
Fortunately WordPress provides many plugins to combat these spam bots and keep them from over-running your blog with unwanted content. Installing a simple captcha plugin can prevent automated subscriber bots from attacking your blog and creating havoc for you.
Wordpress also has other plugins that can be installed to protect your blog in other ways so if you have become a victim of spam attacks I suggest you use whatever tools are available to combat these attacks.
The main reason I am writing about this is because it has come to my attention that my blog has suffered these same such attacks and I find I am forced to install some protection to combat these attacks.
I sincerely regret having to do this, but considering the circumstances I feel I have no choice in the matter. It’s definitely a sad situation when one can’t even run a blog and expect that everyone will follow the rules and play fair.
At this time I am informing all current and future subscribers that if you sign up to my blog via an automated system, bot, script, etc., or have already done so, you will be deleted from my user log.
In addition, any new subscribers will be subject to entering a captcha code to verify they are an actual human and not a bot subscribing for the purpose of spamming my blog with useless or destructive content.
Like I said above, I regret having to do this and I wish everyone could just be honest and play fair, but it seems there are some that insist on ruining it for others therefore I must do what is best for the blog and subscribers as a whole.
For the next few days I will be going through my user database and weeding out the users that subscribed via an automated system. Also, it may be necessary for me to send an email message to suspected users to determine if it bounces back or is replied to via an autoresponder account.
If you receive such an email from me please return a valid response manually so that I will know you are a real human. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause any users, but I must protect my blog from these unwanted attacks. I hope everyone can understand.

A new study recently conducted by social media and e-mail marketing services company ExactTarget says more than 90% of consumers unsubscribe, “unlike” or stop following brands because of too frequent, irrelevant or boring communications, according to the report.
Released Tuesday, “The Social Break-Up” is a study that surveyed more than 1,500 consumers, exploring changing online behaviors and top motivations for “unliking,” unfollowing and unsubscribing from brand communications via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.
Here are a few key findings from the study:
91% of consumers have unsubscribed from opt-in marketing e-mails.
77% of consumers report being more cautious about providing their e-mail address to companies versus last year.
81% of consumers have either “unliked” or removed a company’s posts from their Facebook News Feed.
71% of consumers report being more selective about “liking” a company on Facebook than they were last year.
51% of consumers expect that a “like” will result in marketing communications from brands, while 40% do not believe it should result in marketing communications.
41% of consumers have “unfollowed” a company on Twitter.
With 95% of U.S. online consumers using e-mail (and 93% of U.S. online consumers being subscribers to at least one opt-in e-mail per day), the e-mail findings are particularly important for marketers hoping to remain in good standing with their audiences via e-mail. The conventional methods of the work from home model still work today if you follow the right plan to achieve success. It’s true there are many new methods that have surfaced in the recent past, but that’s no reason to abandon techniques you used in the beginning of your online endeavors, if they are still working for you and generating a substantial return.
The biggest problem with starting an online business in today’s market is the overwhelming amount of information you are bombarded with, which for the average person, results in what is called information overload and causes 95% of all new startups to fail.
I have found the following to work very well when creating a successful business to make money online, it worked in the beginning and it is still a relevant formula for success today if you follow the process and stay focused on making it work.
1.) Create your own product and make it easily accessable to download once the purchase has been made.
2.) Design a sales page that explains what problem your product will solve for the customer and how it will save them time or how it will eliminate an obstacle in their path to success.
3.) Build a contact list of potential clients who subscribe to your blog or website and continually provide them with quality content which is highly relevant to their business goals.
4.) Build trust in your clients through continued contact via your list of clients, prospects, etc., and provide them with quality support throughout the entire process of setting up their new product.
5.) Reply to any questions, comments, and problems, your clients have regarding the successful use of the product and reassure them that you are there anytime to help them succeed. Don’t just sell them your product and forget about them.
If you follow these simple steps you will find that you can build a successful online presence which will provide you with not only financial returns on your investment, but I have found that I derive more satisfaction from helping others to achieve the level of success they desire. And in the long run you will find that if you enjoy what you are doing then it may prove to be more rewarding then you ever thought possible.
